The latest updates from Central Florida Pit Bull Rescue!
UPDATED 11-28-11: I wanted to take a moment to come back on here to post my thanks. I have received so many well wishes and prayers for my mother and our family. The kindess of strangers has blown me away. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I also wanted to thank those who have continued to send in donations despite the rescue not being active. This is such a HUGE help. Donations being received are going to medical care of our lifers, food, and anything left over is being banked in our rescue account. We still have the dream of purchasing land one day. It is my hope that 2012 will bring a cure for my mother's cancer and allow me to get back to helping the breed I love. Again, thank you all so much.
Update 5-25-11: Finally, I'm updating! Ali is in the last stages of his heartworm treatment! Yay! Once we get a negative test result, he will be neutered and officially up for adoption. We found a great piece of land! It's in Brevard County and will require a lot of work to make it our dream home. Then of course there is the fact that we still have to raise money to purchase the raw land...then clear it and eventually build. We need about $10,000 to get the ball rolling. If anyone would like to help, donations would be greatly appreciated! I've been getting a LOT of emails regarding found pits and owners who need to get "rid" of their pits. Please remember we have NO ROOM (hence the urgency to find land) and can NOT take in any more dogs. The phrase "get rid of" ruffles my feathers. I will be posting a new adoption our page sometime this week so please check her out. And lastly, we will be off line starting June 1st thru September 1st. During this time, our Bully Boutique will still be open and we will still continue to raise funds for our rescue's land fund and vet bills. Anyone with a pit needing a home can post the pooch on our Facebook page. It's under Central Florida Pit Bull Rescue. Don't forget to take advantage of any spay/neuter clinic in your area. Have a great summer everyone!
Update 4-7-11: I just wanted to pop on here to apologize for the lack of updates. It has been a very crazy few weeks. Both my husband and grandma have had surgery. My son broke two bones in his hand and this morning I got put in a cast for breaking two bones in my foot and spraining my peroneal tendon. I'm trying to answer all my emails...my inbox is overflowing. Just a reminder, we do not take in strays or owner surrenders at this time. We have NO space what so ever. I can forward out all the emails I get to my other rescue contacts though.
Update 3/12/11: We also promote these events that the SPCA hold. They are a great way to do your part in helping control the overpopulation of the breed. Plus, it's FREE! I urge everyone to take advantage of this.

Update- 1/26/11: I've found a few different pieces of property that would make a wonderful home for CFPBR. It's just the towering task of raising funds before someone else swoops in and purchases the land. After plugging in numbers it looks like I need 8,700 people to donate $15 each in order to make the purchase. Land is the dream...the goal we have to enable us to actually be able to take in pit bulls instead of relying on fosters or the help of other rescues. The over population of the breed is booming and it's only January. If you are as passionate about the breed as we are, please feel free to pass along the cyber donation jar! Donations can be mailed to us at PO Box 322 Clarcona, FL 32710 or via PAYPAL at [email protected]
*Update- 1/26/11: There is still time to take advantage of Orange County Animal Service's special adoption rate. For the month of January, OCAS is offering a lowered adoption fee of just $20.11! Please head down and check out all the four legged friends just waiting to go home with you!
*We wish everyone a very safe and Happy New Year. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook. Just search Central Florida Pit Bull Rescue.
*A big thank you to everyone to everyone who came out and supported us at this years Cracker Christmas event. With your help we were able to deposite a nice little amount into our land fund. The pit bull community is wonderful!*
***Central Florida Pit Bull Rescue is currently seeking land to build a facility on. A state of the art facility that will be more home like then kennel.
